Stripe Me Happy
Stripe Me Happy Blanket is a joyful twist on the classic stripey log cabin style blanket. It’s built from the center outwards in alternating stripe sequences, like stacking colorful building blocks! This modular approach makes it easy to customize the size to your liking. The blanket is worked in DK weight yarn and is perfect for using up leftovers or creating a carefully curated palette. The first blocks require only a small amount of yarn, but as the blanket grows, so does the appetite for color.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS AND SIZING
Sizes 1 (2, 3)
1 = 54 x 63 cm / 21.25 x 20 inches
2 = 81 x 90 cm / 32 x 35.5 inches
3 = 135 x 144 cm / 53.25 x 56.75 inches
You can easily alter the size of the blanket by simply repeating the sections as long as you want to reach the preferred size.
GAUGE
18 sts x 35 rows of garter stitch is 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches after blocking.
NEEDLES
4,5 mm needles or a size to obtain gauge
YARN
I held fingering weight yarn double throughout this project, but a single strand of DK to Worsted weight yarn would work too. Mine were all leftovers so there is a mix of different compositions and brands all happily married together. Yardages are calculated for fingering weight yarn held double so if you are using DK, you should half the yardages.
You will need a total 260 (540, 1440) g or 1040 (2160, 5760) m / 1140 (2365, 6300) yards of fingering weight yarn.
