A simple lace shawl is the ideal “little something” for summer evenings when there’s a light breeze or just that hint of coolness in the air. This simple lace pattern can be knit as a scarf, stole, or shawl. It’s perfect in linen, cotton, or bamboo.

SIZES
Scarf (Stole, Shawl) in worsted or DK-weight yarn

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Length: 60”/152 cm for all sizes
Width in worsted: 10 (16, 22)”/25 (40, 56) cm
Width in DK: 7 (12, 17)”/18 (30, 43) cm
Measured after blocking. Garment will stretch longer and thinner as you wear it, so start out by blocking it to near its maximum possible width.

CONSTRUCTION
This shawl is knit flat. To adjust width, cast on a multiple of 10 stitches + 9 stitches. To adjust length, knit to desired length where indicated.

GAUGE
For worsted: 19 sts = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch
For DK: 22 sts = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch
Measured after blocking. Gauge is not crucial for this pattern but it will affect finished measurements and yarn usage.
