Summer Solstice is a beautiful and light triangle shawl that’s fun to knit. You won’t want to put your needles down!

Using two colours, you alternate garter stitch stripes with a simple yet delicate lace pattern. Summer Solstice is worked diagonally with increases on one side only, creating a slightly asymmetric triangle.

One skein of fingering weight yarn in each colour is enough. Have fun matching your favourite skeins!

YARN
Two colours of La Bien Aimée Merino Singles (100% merino wool; 366 m / 400 yds per 100 g), one skein of both colours. Shown in colours Golden Ochre (C1) and Namu (C2).

Or similar fingering weight yarn.

NEEDLES
Size 4 mm / US 6 needles or size to obtain pattern gauge

This shawl is worked flat, but I recommend using an 80-100 cm / 32-40 inch circular needle to accommodate the growing number of stitches.

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
