Sunday Supper Cowl
The Sunday Supper Cowl uses a smooth sport-weight worsted wool yarn along with a strand of mohair/silk laceweight yarn for maximum coziness. The mohair is carried along with every other color of main yarn, adding just enough softness but with fewer strands to carry along at one time.
This design can be worked as a tubular Moebius-style cowl or a long infinity loop cowl. It uses sport-weight worsted-spun Maine wool yarn in 6 colors. The sample shown is the 30-inch Moebius cowl.
This name of this design honors our post-pandemic tradition of bringing family and friends together for Sunday supper most weeks—the colors represent seasonal hues from snowy winter white through spring and summer greens to autumn yellows and gold. The colorwork pattern is simple and repetitive, and could easily be worked in fewer colors, or a completely different palette.
