This cowl is inspired by a plain-woven pattern known as a tabby weave, the basic over and under pattern we learn as children. It’s amazing how a simple combination of knit and purl stitches can create such exciting pattern and texture.

Starting with a provisional cast on, the cowl is worked in knit and purl stitches with the patterned section edged with garter stitch. After knitting, the live stitches are grafted together to create a seamless cowl. The instructions are given for three sizes, designed to use 100g, 150g, or 200g of worsted weight yarn.
