This is a crochet pattern in both UK and US crochet terms for a fun textured cropped summer top made by simply joining eight crocheted granny style squares. Add some straps and an edging… retro crochet meets summer festival style!
The top is made by joining 8 granny style textured squares together. With the raised stitches used, it looks like the top is made up of smaller squares… but it’s only 8!
The top is an easy fitting shape and relaxed fit, with plenty of ease.
Different sizes are obtained by adding extra rounds to each square to make them larger.
A crab stitch edging is crocheted to finish off the neck edge, armholes and bottom edging beautifully.
The smaller 5mm (US H/8) hook is only used for the final crab stitch edging.
