Terrestrial Top
With wide lace panels on the upper front and back and a saucy box pleat worked over a narrow lace panel on the back, the Terrestrial Top is the perfect cotton shell for summer. The cotton merino blend yarn has the coolness of cotton and a touch of wool for easy knitting.

Finished Size 30½ (34, 37½, 41, 44½, 48½, 52, 55½)“ circumference at underarm. Tee shown measures 34”; modeled with 2½” of positive ease.
Yarn Brown Sheep Company Cotton Fine (80% Pima cotton, 20% Merino wool; 222 yd 203 m/1¾ 50 g): #CF452 Jubilant Jade, 4 (5, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9) skeins.
Needles Size 3 (3.25 mm): 32” circular (cir) and two double-pointed (dpn). Size 2 (2.75 mm): 16” cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); stitch holders; tapestry needle.
Gauge 27 sts and 36 rows = 4” in St st on larger needle.

This top is worked back and forth in pieces from the bottom up and seamed.

Stitch counts assume each lace repeat is 16 stitches wide.

When working the neck shaping, if there are not enough stitches for half of a lace repeat, work those stitches in stockinette stitch instead.

A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.
