This waistcoat has been designed by Margaret Eton in response to a request from many knitters for a simple woollen blouse to take the place of a silk one, and to button down the front rather than slip over the head. It may be worn under a tweed coat or jacket, or as a top jacket if preferred.

Materials Required.—11 oz. 3-ply wool. For the checks, 1 oz. azalea 3-ply, one pair No. 11 needles.

Measurements.—Length of jacket, from bottom to shoulder, 18 in. Length of jacket from bottom to underarm, 10 in. Length of sleeve to underarm, 18 in. To fit 32 in. bust.

Tension—Seven stitches to 1 in., 14 rows to 1 in.
