The Deni Babydoll top
The Deni was inspired by my friend with the same name. She loves baby-doll type tops and knitted lace. I designed this piece in her honour.
The top is knitted from top to bottom using a Raglan cable lace increase that gives it a unique look. The bodice should be worn with at least 2” of negative ease, so that the under-bust ribbing can be as close to skin as possible. After the empire waist ribbing, the top increases to 3 times the number of stitches making it flattering on all body types. If the bodice doesn’t have a negative ease, then the top will be very boxy and will not have the look intended. There is a tutorial to add elastic to the empire waist ribbing to ensure that the top part of the Deni is tight on the body.
Pattern is graded to fit bust sizes 28”- 66” (71 cm - 167 cm)
