These toe-up socks are inspired by the Main Street Bridge in Hillsboro, crossing the Max Line and Main Street, from the perspective of a Max train approaching the bridge at dusk. The arch of the bridge is built into the socks – the gusset for the heel grows out of the sides of the bridge. The Max train tracks run up the foot from the toe of the sock to the arch; above the bridge are random eyelet “stars” (optional).

Yarn:
Lilliput Yarns’ Simple Sock (1 skein), colorway shown is Evening Stroll

Finished Size:
Women’s Size Medium

Needles:
This pattern is written for two US #1.5 circular needles, but is easy to convert to DPNs or Magic Loop. The toe forms an oval, and is a good one for wider feet; if your feet are more tapered, you may want to cast on fewer stitches, but keep doing increase rows until you have a total of 60 sts.

Notions:
(4) stitch markers
Darning needle

Some sock-making experience is advised
