I had a job that was a soul sucking experience (I exaggerate a bit). The Final Straw happened one day and I said “enough”. I found a new job and left the horrible one behind. I started designing this project when I made the decision to leave (it did take 5 months to find the new job). I am a positive person so even though the name of the pattern has a negative connotation it’s acronyms are positive.

There are eight color segments which are named after the positive acronyms. Each color segments has three sections made up of stockinette stitch, eyelets and stripes.

Each of the five colors are used once then three of the colors are used once again. The third color uses a tiny bit of the second skein. IF you don’t want to buy that 6th skein, consider striping the last segment with the left overs from the 4 other colors.

The finished size is 23” at the widest part with a 99” length (after blocking). If you want a smaller size, consider using Sparrow by Quince & Co. (a gorgeous linen yarn) and a US 7 needle (one skein each for five colors).

I hope you have positive, challenging, enjoyable and rewarding jobs. This pattern is for everyone out there who has reached “The Final Straw” mark and done something about it to make their life better.
