The Gingerbread Man
A gingerbread man is a holiday classic, and knitting him is sure to get you in the mood for wintertime baking and fun. This gingerbread man, however, comes with a twist: knitted in a different color, with a few added details, he becomes a classic-style doll, perfect for peeking out of a stocking on Christmas morning.
The gingerbread man is knitted flat in two pieces that are sewn together and lightly stuffed, then embellished with your choice of materials. He is worked on a set size US4/3.5mm knitting needles from Cascade 220 or a comparable worsted weight yarn. The finished toy will be approximately 10.5” tall with an arm span of about 7”. He would look great on a mantle or as a gift for an older child. If you made him with buttons and simple embellishments, he could be an appropriate softie for a baby or young child.
