An easy beginner crochet blanket designed for Red Heart Granny Square All in One yarn. Go with the flow of color changes to create exciting stripes in simple moss stitch- no cutting or controlling of colors needed.

The baby blanket pictured used 2 skeins of Red Heart Granny Square All In One yarn in the Soft White – Citrus Twist colorway. (100% acrylic; 417 yards (381 m) per 250-gram skein). That is 834 yards (762 meters) of yarn.

You can add a third skein of yarn to make a small throw-sized blanket. You can make your blanket wider you want by adjusting the number of starting chains. Any odd number of starting chains works for this pattern (any even number of stitches in each row).

Hook: 8 mm (US L11)

Gauge: 11.5 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm), 12 rows = 4 inches (10 cm)

Stitches required: chain and single crochet in US terms.

The whole blanket uses moss stitch, which is a repeating single crochet, chain 1 pattern. Moss stitch is sometimes called linen stitch.

Add the second skein whenever the first skein runs out and don’t worry if it starts on a different color.
