These Days Blanket
These Days Blanket knitting pattern is easy to knit with worsted weight yarn. The design features a six-row repeat stitch pattern that creates a modern ‘triangle-in-a-square’ texture that is reversible! The blanket looks exactly the same on both sides.

The stitch design for my These Days Blanket pattern reminds me of the boxes on my paper calendar where I write notes about each day. Some days bring life’s biggest challenges. Other days bring happy, memorable occasions. And, some of the best days are the delightfully ordinary days. Keeping notes on my calendar about each day helps me remember to enjoy these days. Wishing you a peaceful, enjoyable day!
DIRECTIONS FOR SIX SIZES:
Approximate sizes after blocking…
Baby: 27” wide x 30” long
Small: 30” wide x 34” long
Medium: 33.5” wide x 37” long
Large: 36” wide x 41” long
XL: 39” wide x 48” long
XXL: 46” wide x 54” long
Finished size may vary depending on yarn weight and gauge used.
Any of the sizes may be made longer by adding pattern repeats. Each pattern repeat adds about .75” to the length of the blanket. Pattern includes estimates for additional yardage needed to make each size longer.
WORSTED #4 WEIGHT YARN:
Baby: 760 - 780 yards
Small: 950 - 980 yards
Medium: 1140 - 1180 yards
Large: 1350 - 1400 yards
XL: 1700 - 1800 yards
XXL: 2300 - 2400 yards
Be sure to buy additional yarn if you plan to add length to your project.
I used Juniper Moon Farms ‘Moonshine’ worsted yarn in the ‘Moonbeam’ colorway. This pattern will work well with many worsted weight yarns. Solid color yarn recommended for best appearance of stitch pattern.
The pattern may also be used with slightly lighter or heavier weight yarns.
If you prefer bulky weight yarn…please see my Little Moments blanket pattern.
GAUGE:
Pattern stitch with US size 7 needles: approximately 19 stitches & 30 rows = 4”
Exact gauge is not essential. This stitch pattern looks best with fairly tight stitches.
I used US size 7 knitting needles. Choose the needle size that gives the best appearance with your yarn and your knitting tension.
NEEDLES:
Blanket knit flat, in one piece, back and forth on circular knitting needles in order to accommodate the large number of stitches.
SKILL LEVEL: Easy
You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit and purl confidently, read a row by row knitting pattern, bind off stitches and weave in ends.
Blocking of finished knitting is highly recommended. Please see my blog post for step-by-step tips and photos.
This pattern uses standard U.S. knitting terms.
Written pattern with row by row instructions.
