Thursday's Child
My musical inspiration for these socks was the song ‘Thursday’s Child’ by Tanita Tikaram. I admit, I have no idea what the song is all about, but I love the happy folksy spirit of the melody, so I chose a playful all-over stitch pattern to go with this feeling.
You can choose to work the all-over slip-stitch pattern from the charts or the written instructions.
Sizes: Women’s M and L to fit leg circumference 18.75 (22) cm 7.5 (8.5)”. Leg length including heel results in 23 (24) cm 9 (9.5)” when knit as given in the pattern. Leg length and foot length are adjustable.
Material: 1 skein of fingering weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 400 m (440 yds) per 100 g.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, cable needle, darning needle.
Gauge:
32 sts /58 rows = 10 cm/4” in Butterfly Leg pattern, blocked
32 sts /42 rows = 10 cm/4” in cuff pattern, blocked
The Thursday’s Child pattern is also available as part of the Eight Days A Week collection.
