Why not knit this as a gift for the pianist (or budding pianist) in your life. Or for any music lover … or a Doctor Who fan!

I designed this piano keyboard washcloth after watching the trailer for the new Doctor Who series - the Doctor’s new adversary, played by Jinkx Monsoon, wears a suit with fabulous piano keyboard lapels.

This washcloth is knitted back and forth in rows using the mosaic technique, with knit and slip sts and only one colour in each row.

Instructions on how to knit using the mosaic technique are included in the pattern. The design is fully charted using Stitchmastery software.

It is knitted in Ricorumi Cotton DK and takes 1 x 25g ball in each colour. If you are substituting a different cotton DK, you will need approx 58m of the main shade (ivory) and 54m of the contrast shade (black).

Alternative uses for this project: baby comforter, face cloth, cushion, wallhanging, placemat
