A toe-up sock in two sizes. The 6-row slip-stitch pattern in two colors resembles a row of saw teeth. Four skeins of this yarn will make two pairs of socks, one in each size. If you plan to make only one pair, you may need more than two skeins for the larger size. The socks are knit toe-up using a Turkish cast-on, or Judy Becker’s Magic Cast-on, and are knit with a circular needle although practiced knitters can adapt the pattern to two circulars or four needles.
The pattern was named after my parents - Tom and Ethel Pottle, because the saw-tooth pattern and the yarn color I used reminded me of the buck-saw they used to saw wood for the winter firewood supply in my hometown of Buchans, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
