Get Tropical at tea time with the Tropical Twist Cocktail tea cosy. The Cocktail tea cosy is great for jazzing up tea time or could be used as a fun way to serve cocktails at a cocktail party.

The Cocktail tea cosy and be knitted in any odd bits of DK yarn that you have going spare. The fruit slice could be any of the citrus fruits; lime, orange, pink grapefruit perhaps. The cherry could be an olive, a grape, physalis, a lychee or any small round fruit.

The cocktail requires one bamboo needle for construction of the straw and parasol. Bamboo needles are great for construction because they are easy to cut and are cheap to buy, especially if you buy online or at charity shops. One pair of needles will make 2 cocktail tea cosies.

I used a loose cable pattern for the main tea cosy to make the main part of the cosy look like cut glass. If you are new to cables, this is an easy pattern to start with because there aren’t make cable rows.

The main part of the tea cosy could easily be knitted in colours to look like your favorite cocktail.

If Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses had a small sized tea cosy, I think he’d have Cocktail tea cosy - Lovely Jubbly!
