Trumpet Vines Skirt
Inspired by the complimentary colors of this cotton/linen blend yarn, I envisioned a tiered, feminine skirt created with a thicker yarn for a faster knit. Worked at a smaller gauge than suggested, this skirt gives you the coverage you want and will look great all day long!
You can easily make the skirt longer by adding additional tiers at the bottom.
The skirt is worked in one piece, starting at the waistband. You add increases for the hip shaping, and a lovely, simple cable follows the curve of the hips. The lace panels require a bit more attention, but with only 2 repeats of the pattern, it works up quickly.
Yarn
Nashua Handknits Creative Focus Linen (50% cotton, 50% linen; 220 yds / 201 m per 3.53 oz / 100g)
3 (3, 4, 4, 4) skeins of MC or approx 575 (640, 700, 780, 855) yds/525 (580, 635, 710, 780) m of worsted weight yarn
1 (1, 2, 2, 2) skein(s) each of CC1 and CC2 or approx 190 (210, 230, 260, 285) yds / 175 (190, 210, 235, 260) m
of a worsted weight yarn

Size US 4, 5 & 6 / 3.5, 3.75 & 4 mm circular needles, in appropriate length for your size
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.
Gauge
24 sts + 36 rows = 4” / 10 cm in st st using size 5 / 3.75 mm needles
26 sts + 28 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Samaras Lace patt using size 6 / 4 mm needles
Pattern Notes
For main body of skirt inc rnds, you will inc 8 sts in each rnd, other either side of each cable
You may make the skirt longer by continuing either in the main body patt, or adding additional tiers to the bottom
Notions
Elastic cord for waistband (you may use flat elastic, but I like the cord since it doesn’t fold over)
10 stitch markers, optional removable stitch markers for picking up stitches, cable needle
