Tumbling Blocks Mosaic
Tumbling Blocks is a deceptively simple overlay mosaic crochet design, and only uses basic stitches, making it ideal for all experience levels.
The pattern includes a clear marked chart, full written instructions and lots of progress photos.
As the design is not symmetrical, an additional chart is provided for lefthanders, to match the written instructions for you.
The pattern is written for 2 sizes (lap blanket and baby comforter) and 2 yarn weights (finished sizes below), and it also includes additional information to enable you to easily make a different size if you wish.
Lap Blanket
Special DK: 82 cm x 105 cm
Highland Heathers Aran: 93 cm x 123 cm
Baby Comforter
Special DK: 52 cm x 70 cm
Highland Heathers Aran: 59 cm x 82 cm
The pattern includes details of the yarn I used, but you can use any yarn you wish, just make sure that you use a hook size appropriate to your yarn, and that you have a good contrast between your chosen shades.
I have included various suggestions for fringes, and also instructions for an optional simple envelope border to finish your project. If you work to the stated gauge you should have just enough yarn to make the border.
To simplify the abbreviations, and avoid the need for separate UK and US versions, the pattern is written in my ’Universal’ terms (I developed these terms for the Jacquard Temperature Blanket and have also used them in Flora’s Fauna and all my subsequent overlay mosaic crochet patterns).
