Twister
This pattern was originally designed as a part of Woolgirl Return to Oz “Twister” kit from September 2011.
When presented with the name of the shipment (and yarn and pattern), which is “Twister”, I simply couldn’t help using lots of twisted stitches.
The sock shows off two kinds of twisted cables, the first is the weaves, both the big on the front and the two small on the back of the sock. These weaves tell of the mixing of the worlds that Dorothy experiences when taken by the twister. The twister is also in the sock in the two big twisters on either side of the main weave. When experiencing a storm, the air often turns muzzy and indistinct, and I have used reverse stockinette stitch to symbolize just that. Hopefully it all goes together to make the perfect storm of a sock
