This quick two-color cowl is worked in the round, with a fun post stitch ridge detail. The pattern follows a two-row repeat, and though the color changes every row or two, the unused color is carried up the back of the work, so you are not cutting the yarn with each new round. This intermediate pattern will be best for a crocheter who is familiar with post stitches, and comfortable working in the round.

Difficulty Level:

Size: approx. 30” around, 5.5” width.

Yarn: Malabrigo Rios, 2 skeins (210 yards each)

Hook: Size G (4.0mm)

Gauge: 1 pattern repeat = 3 inches width.

A note about length: After completing the initial foundation row, the length of the cowl will appear to be significantly longer than 30”. After completing Row 1, the emerging ripple shape of the cowl will cause the length to decrease. Pattern notes instruct how to lengthen or shorten the cowl to your desired length, but keep this shrinkage in mind when adjusting your number of foundation stitches.
