From ‘Sweaters From The Seaton Collection’: This style of garment – a classic waistcoat with pointed fronts and pockets – is one we’ve used often over the years. It can be worn by men or women, with trousers or skirts, over a shirt or next to the skin, or as a waistcoat really should be: underneath a smart suit jacket to give a little zest to an otherwise sober look. Being so adaptable, it can always be used in a fashionable way. The front of this waistcoat shows two ‘Trees of Life’. The back takes the colours of the front and carries them around in stripes and geometric patterns. The idea of two completely different types of pattern in the same garment that nonetheless work perfectly together is very appealing to me and very satisfying to design.

The waistcoat employs 1 Main colour (A) and 10 Contrast colours (B – M). The actual yarns used are not mentioned in the pattern, only a suggested weight of yarn.
