Unisex Child's Striped Hoodie
Worked from the top down, the Unisex Striped Hoodie is a snappy addition to any kid’s wardrobe.
The finished closed measurements are 22 (23.5, 26, 28)“, and the worsted weight yarn makes this a quick knit.
Starting at the hood, the fronts and back are worked separately to the underarm where they’re joined for the body. The sleeves are worked separately in a contrast color.
Construction options: The instructions call for a closed cast on for the hood and sewing the hood seam; you can use a provisional cast on and either graft the hood join or use a 3-needle bind off. Likewise, the sleeves are worked in the round from the underarm to the cuff; you can work back and forth on straight needles and then sew the sleeve seam. The buttonholes are written for the “girl” side; you can work them on the “boy” side. Just as the color choice is up to you, so are these construction decisions.
