Smukks is the Shetland dialect word for slippers. These felted slippers are very thick and soft, and very warm and cosy. This batch of patterns for the Uradale Smukks family gives instructions for four sizes: gents, ladies, children, babies. The sizes can easily be altered to suit any size of foot.

The best yarn weight for the slippers is chunky weight, but you can achieve the same effect by holding two strands of double knit together. If you choose to knit these slippers with two strands of double knit, you will have endless possibilities for wonderful colour combinations! Why not try strands of two different colours and see the effect of that when they melt together in the felting process?

Please bear in mind that the instructions in these patterns are written for Uradale Yarns exclusively. If you use other yarns they are likely to behave differently in the felting process.

Please send us pictures of your finished slippers and your daring colour combinations! Either on Instagram at @uradaleyarn or by email, we would love to see your creations!
