Urban Rush
This is interesting knitting, and because it’s divided into sections, it goes really fast!
The instructions are very clear and are followed by photos, so you always know where you are, where you need to go, and how you’re supposed to do it.
Both short and long sleeves versions are in the pattern - so you can knit one for each season with different colors! Great value for your investment!
Finished sizes chest circumference:
82 (92, 102, 112, 122)cm 32 (36, 40, 44, 48)inch.
Construction description:
A Set-in-sleeve top, worked from the bottom up, in pieces and seamed.
The front and back pieces are worked in the same manner to underarm.
Shape:
The bottom is shaped using short rows to form the triangle shape and finished with the waistband.
A mosaic colorwork section then fills in each side of the triangle, and is worked separately with a ball of each color, then joined to work across the whole piece.
At the neck, the piece is divided with each side worked separately - with its own set of yarns.
Charts:
The cable pattern and mosaic colorwork are charted only with written directions for construction and shaping. The triangle shaping has both charted and written instructions.
Must know:
- mosaic
- simple cables
- short rows (I used German short rows and there’s a link to a video tutorial in the pattern. If you’re familiar with any type of short rows, it’ll be easy for you)
- reading charts.
Yarn:
For both summer and winter versions: DK weight, 137y (125 m) / 50g.
Needles:
Note: the triangle shaping requires circular needle
2.75mm US size 2 circular needles, 60cm 24”
3.25 mm US size 3 circular needles, 60cm 24”
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.
Gauge:
22 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm 4 inch in BOTTOM CABLE - Repeat chart on 2.75mm US size 2 needle
21 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm 4 inch in MOSAIC REPEAT chart on 3.25mm US size 3 needle
