This is a cozy colorwork hat for those cold autumn and winter days with a folded brim and a fun colorwork. Perfect for hikes or just walking around town. Check out also the matching Valtavaara Cowl
The hat is named Valtavaara after a Fjell in Kuusamo, Finland, that is located on the last leg of one of Finland’s most famous hiking routes, Karhunkierros.
Worked bottom up and in the round.
SIZE
One size, 25 cm wide and 20 cm long with brim folded double.

GAUGE
28.5 sts x 29 rows/10 cm (4 inch) on 2 mm (0 US) colorwork
NEEDLES
2 mm (0 US) and 2.5 mm (1 US ) circular needles, 40 cm or 80 cm long(if you use magic loop) or/and DPNs
YARN
Suoma Single, 100% Finnsheep Wool, fingering weight, 50 g/ 205 m/224 yards
1 skein of Kupari (used approx. 120 m)
1 skein of Valko (used approx. 20m)
Alternative yarn options: any fingering yarn approximately 120 m for MC and approximately 20 m for CC. Do to a few long floats, a “sticky” yarn is a preferable option for yarn substitution.
