Inspired by the tumbling peach blooms of a Verbena plant near my home, this beautiful shawl is light and airy with sections of tumbling stripes and open lace work.
This was one of the times when I let the yarn choose the pattern it wanted to be, the fine low twist 4ply looks great in picots and gives exceptional drape with the tall stitches and shells. The beautiful natural colours of the Woollenflower natural dye process add delicacy to the shawl.

With just enough about the pattern to keep you interested, it grows from one corner to the other edge with a pattern that naturally increases along the neckline edge.

Sizes
Finished depth: 69cm/27in
Finished wingspan: 150cm/59in
Size is easily adjusted by working more or fewer repeats. Altering the size alters the yarn required.

Materials
1 100g skein Woollenflower yarn (80% merino, 20 % silk, 600m/100g) dyed with avocado and catch (col A)
1 100g skein Woollenflower yarn (80% merino, 20 % silk, 600m/100g) dyed with avocado (col A)
3.5mm (US E) hook

This pattern works well with any fine 4 ply yarn or a heavy lace
weight. Size can be adjusted if your skeins are not as generous. We used 160g/960yds (90g/540yds col A and 70g/420yds col B) to make the shawl.

Tension
4 shells and 10 rows in pattern to 10 cm/4 in using 3.5mm hook (or size needed to achieve tension)

Difficulty Rating
