This bauble or tree ornament is a really fun, fast and colourful project for those wanting handmade decorations for their home during the festive season. It has two filling options to suit your preference and is also easy to adapt. There is a customisation section at the end of the pattern with ideas to help you make a truly unique item that reflects your personal style. You could make a matching set or a fun collection of baubles to use up your scraps.

It’s part of the the Vivid Winter Collection, which includes designs for this un festive bauble tree decoration, a yoked cowl and warm mittens all featuring the alternating colours V-stitch.

Size:
The sample is worked in aran cotton yarn and is 7cm in circumference. Using different sizes of yarn and hook will alter its size and it’s also possible to add extra repeats to increase the size.

Tension:
5.5 V-sts x 10 rows = 10cm x 10cm / 4” x 4”.

Working method:
crocheted 2 pieces motif style in the round. Seam closed around a bauble/ball form or toy stuffing.

Finished measurements:
Circumference: 22.5cm (9”)
Diameter: 7cm (2 ¾”)

Requirements:
Aran/worsted cotton yarn in each of 3 shades:
20m/22 yds (Jody Long Cottontails (C1) Hot, Sheep and Wasabi used in sample);
4.5mm (US 7) hook
30cm (12”) of 1.5cm (½”) ribbon
