Wartime Farm Sleeveless Pullover
This form of the pattern is no longer available. Separate patterns for Men’s, Women’s and Children’s versions will be available in due course, and this listing will be updated with links.
In the wake of the popular Wartime Farm BBC TV series, you can now knit your very own authentic Fair Isle Sleeveless Pullover, modelled on a 1938 original and as worn by Alex Langlands no less!
For each pattern sold, a £2.50 donation will be made to the Women’s Land Army Tribute Campaign to help raise money for a permanent memorial to these forgotten ladies and their untold toil during the World Wars.
This 12 page pattern contains a combination of written and charted instructions to knit this garment. It includes instructions for a wide range of sizes to fit children, men and women. Please read the pattern notes and sizing charts carefully to ensure you work the correct size.
The pullover is knitted in one piece up to the underarm and then is divided and the front and back are knitted back and forth separately. It is knitted using stranded Fair Isle technique.
Two colour way options are provided in the pattern, one using Jamieson & Smith 100% Shetland wool and the second in Excelana 100% British wool which is my own vintage inspired yarn range. Both options will give an authentic, period feel to the garment.
