Watermelon Hat
I wanted to design a quick weekend project that would use up some stash yarn. So I started playing around with some ribbing and stripes. I like ribbing because it stretches, therefore one size can fit many and stripes are good for using up smaller pieces of yarn. When designing the hat I decided to continue the ribbing to the tip of the hat reducing the width of the ribs as the stitch number decreased. I like the way this technique gives a straight line to the top of the hat. Then I added the knob on top just for fun.
