Waves and Wires
Knit from the toe up with an afterthought heel and optional gusset for high insteps, Waves and Wires are a great way to use those larger sock leftovers you have lying around. Choose two yarns with high contrast to make a statement with these fun chevron socks, or go for lower contrast for a pretty, subtle effect. This pattern would also look great in a mini skein set, if you can handle all the ends!

Construction
These socks are knit from the toe up. After knitting the foot, you will insert waste yarn for the heel and continue knitting the leg. After binding off the cuff, needles are inserted into the live stitches around the waste yarn, the waste yarn is removed, and an afterthought heel is worked in the round, finishing with Kitchener stitch.
