Inspired by the water dripping off the rocks on Weeping Rock trail at Zion National Park. This shawl was the LA Yarn Crawl pattern given to those visiting Abuelita’s Knitting and Needlepoint.

The garter stitch center transitions into a garter stitch lace making this shawl fully reversible. Optional irregular stripes blend the colors of the variegated garter stitch into the lace edging. The lace is written and charted. The pattern includes a row chart including the percentage complete and stitch counts.

Skill Level:
Advanced beginner - Garter lace. The lace is not technically difficult, but it is difficult to identify and fix mistakes due to the double yarn overs. I suggest using lifelines regularly in the lace section.

Yarn:
2 Skeins Flying Kettle Caspertine (80% Merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere; 400 yards 366 meters per 100 g). Sample knit in Tin Roof Rusted and Retrograde.

Needles:
US 7 4.5 mm 24 inch circular for ribbing. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain approximate gauge.

Gauge:
Approximately 16 stitches by 36 rows = 4” 10 cm in garter stitch after blocking.

Size:
13 inches 28 cm by 66 inches 152 cm. Size may be adjusted.

Construction:
Knit flat
