WHALE BABY BLANKET

Let’s be honest, it’s been a long time since I had little ones myself. A very long time. Back then, I didn’t have the skills or energy to design baby knits. But now, my dear friend is expecting twins in a few weeks, and my greatest gift of love to her is these baby blankets, which I’ve poured time and effort into designing – with her and her soon-to-arrive twins in mind. I hope you get as much joy from knitting the Whale Baby Blanket as I’ve had from designing it!

The Whale Baby Blanket is a baby blanket knitted with only knit and purl sts. It begins with a moss stitch border, after which the work is divided into three sections. The first and last sections feature motifs, the middle section is in stockinette stitch, and moss stitch is used between the sections. Next, the motifs switch places, with the whale appearing only in the centre section, and finally, the layout changes again so there are two sections with whales and one with stockinette stitch. The piece is finished off with a moss stitch border.
