.
Designed especially for the Thanksgiving season, my new collection, With the Grain, was inspired by the grassy grains harvested to provide food worldwide. Many civilizations have relied on wheat, rye, and barley for their survival, and these three shawls were created to honor those folks working in fields to bring us these essential food sources.
Wheat Grass
A right-triangle shawl worked sideways from the right tip. My favorite of the three shawls in this collection, the interesting lace border features feathery curves that are quite gratifying to complete.
This design is intended to use up your yarn, and is suitable for any yarn weight up to aran. The shawl should be blocked firmly lengthwise from the right tip to the bound off edge. (I used a blocking wire on my bound off edge.) Also, please note that the lace border is worked only from charts.
Materials used for sample (weighs 271g):
Garnstudio Drops Puna:
6 skeins Beige
Acknowledgements:
The lace border contains elements from a stitch pattern found in the Knitting Stitch Bible by Hitomi Shida.
