Wildflower Cowl
ABOUT THE PATTERN
The Wildflower Cowl features simple lace that evokes a field of wildflowers. Simple lace is my favorite way to show off linen yarns. The linen stitch at the top and bottom of the cowl is the perfect edging for linen and linen blend yarns as the name might suggest. The Wildflower Cowl is long for a draped-scarf feel perfect for showing off your knits as the temperature rises. Lace repeat written and charted.
I took some time recently to research linen and linen blend yarns. For tips about knitting with linen or linen blend yarns, see this blog post.
ONE SIZE
About 32” around by 5.5” tall (81.5 cm by 14 cm)
MATERIALS
Yarn: 200 yds (185 m) Sport Weight
Burgundy sample knit in LoftyFiber Euroflax (100% Wet Spun Linen) and used about 70 g or 190 yards. Golden sample knit in Knit Picks Lindy Chain (70% Linen, 30% Pima Cotton) and used about 50 g or 180 yards. This golden yarn is a fingering weight so the sample cowl has a smaller stitch and row gauge resulting in a smaller overall cowl.
Needles: Size US 3 (3.25 mm) circular needle (or size needed to get gauge)
Notions: stitch marker, tapestry needle

20 sts and 28 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Wildflower Pattern after blocking
