I recently found myself wanting to use heavier yarn to make something—a layer— that would warm up my body while leaving my arms easy to maneuver since it is very hard for me not to use my hands when making something. Another feature I wanted was to use a neutral color so my layer could be worn with different clothes that I already have in my wardrobe. I didn’t think too long about stitches. I knew it would be rib stitch; I just had to choose which of them and then decide what I needed to add for extra interest for knitters.
