For the worsted versions, a 25g mini will make 1 square. For the 4ply versions, each 25g mini will make 2 squares (10-12g each). A 100g skein will make 4 (worsted) or 8 (4ply) squares – please follow guidance below on yarn management to ensure you don’t run out of yarn!
For the 4ply squares, split each mini in half or weigh the skein and make note of total weight. Each square must be half a mini so can weigh no more than 12g to ensure not running out of yarn. Weigh your first finished square and if it is over 12g you will need to remove 2 rounds at the end of section 2 (rounds 28-29) or you will need to get more yarn. You can alternatively go down a needle size if the fabric feels too loose, which might work too.
Both blanket samples shown in small size with knitted on border. 4ply sample square shown in Blue Spruce and worsted sample square in Rosebay.
Gauge is not important in this pattern, as long as your squares are the same size as each other.
