I found a piece of Norwegian wallpaper and fell in love with the scattered woodland designs that graced it. It inspired a hat, and now a cowl. It has all the best of a walk in the snowy woods. The cowl is simple, begins and ends with rib, but rib can be turned to the inside and stitched for a firmer opening, and yet again, addition of an optional attached Icord firms it up so it will stand up around your ears. Having puffy hair, hats are problematic for me, on the coldest days, cowls serve as earmuffs for me! Looser Cowl shown in photos.
Charts are slightly changed from photos, to create an even “spread” of motifs and to make acorns more substantial. Looser and Tighter charts have similar elements but are different to accommodate smaller size of Tighter cowl.
Woodland Dream Hat is also available in my Ravelry Store.
Yardage is slightly more than 1 skein. To work LOOSER Size with just one skein of MC, rib could be worked in CC if turning in and whipstitching to wrong side of work.
