This adorable snug-fitting garment can be used either as an undershirt or as a light sweater for that little bit of extra warmth.
Nov. 2010: The sample was knit using Lana Gatto Mignon, a very fine 100% washable and dry-able wool - unfortunately now discontinued. Elann’s Peruvian Baby Silk (an alpaca / silk blend) works to the same gauge on 2mm / US0 needles - although this yarn is hand-wash.
A lighthouse, sun, moon, spider web, sailboat, butterfly, dragonfly or peace symbol — your choices for the shoulder motifs on this soft and cozy undershirt/ sweater that’s just the ticket for spring, fall and winter. Tiny cables finish the sleeves and front edges. Closures are ribbon ties.
One-piece construction: Knit in one piece from back hem to front hem, only the side and underarm seams will need to be sewn.
Sizes: 0 - 3 months, 3 - 6 months (chest circumference 16” 40.5cm or 17” 43cm; measures 10” 25cm from shoulder to hem; 0 ease allowance
Recommended Skills: knit, purl, make one stitch, Cable 4 stitches, sew on ribbon, seaming, reading charts, recognize knit and purl stitches for working moss stitch

Difficulty Level: It is rated Intermediate, but a confident beginner should be able to work this pattern.
