Knitting: Cardigan
The Sun Salutation is a long, loose-fitting, set-in sleeve, open-front cardigan worked top down in a gentle A-line to a mid-thigh length. The back neck incorporates an applied I-cord for stability, with the front edge ribbing worked as you go. That rib is then incorporated into the bottom edge.
Knitting: Pullover
The Mark II is a pullover based on my favorite Zephyr cardigan. It keeps the top-down seamless design, raglan sleeves, and the short row shoulders of the original, but it repackages this into an even easier-to-knit pullover in fingering weight yarn in the round.
Knitting: Cowl
Gold rush style! Designed for the Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl 2022, this deceptively simple one-skein bandana cowl is a nod to the fashion of my great-great-(great?) grandparents, who settled in the gold country town of Dutch Flat (Placer County, CA) in 1850.

One of the cool things about a raglan style is that you can make the sleeves sheer without being too revealing. The Evora proves that. By using two silky lace-weight yarns held together, the body is opaque, but then the sleeves are worked in silk mohair held singly, which makes them sheer. And to add a little elegance, both the body and sleeves...
Knitting: Scarf
What do you do when you want to keep your neck warm with something snug and fitted just to the “v” of your coat, but you don’t want to mess up your hair with something that has to go over your head? The Opel is exactly that.

Bautista is the epitome of Spring! Delicate and drapey, but at the same time it is substantial enough to to throw over your shoulders to ward off the spring chill. The sideways construction highlights the Lilac Leaf pattern with integrated edging.

The Zephyr combines everything I love about cardigans. With a top-down seamless design, raglan sleeves, and lace details, it is a straight-forward but still interesting to knit sweater. It’s also a quick knit using light worsted weight yarn, and available in a ton of sizes. But what sets Zephyr apart is the fit.

Who doesn’t love pockets? Whether it’s to store a tissue or lip balm or just to put your hands in to keep them warm, they’re a great feature for any wintery sweater. I’ve included pockets in past designs but have never done them on the diagonal, so this was my inspiration. The diagonal theme extends the body, which is A line, and to the cable p...

Twingo is a hat worked in the round in a warm, cushy, two- color brioche that is completely reversible.
Knitting: Headband, Beanie, Toque
The Cabriolet (French for “convertible”) is a stylish starter project for trying out brioche. Worked in the round with chunky yarns, this two color project is a fast and versatile knit that can be a headband or a hat—your choice!
Knitting: Cowl
The fun part about the Ambrosia Cowl is that it is much simpler to knit than it looks. The colorwork is done in a simple slip stitch using only one color yarn per round.
Knitting: Cardigan
The Wayfarer is a standard fitted, set-in sleeve cardigan with a mock turtleneck and zip front accented by contrasting I-cord edgings and patch pockets. The cardigan has waist shaping and is knit in pieces from the bottom up and seamed. The design of the mock turtleneck in 2 x 2 rib with contrast edging provides a versatile finished look whethe...
Knitting: Scarf
Peer Pressure is a shawlette/scarf that is worked from side to side in one piece, using one skein of fingering weight yarn, based on a simple formula.
Knitting: Cardigan
The Patrician Cardigan uses a lush mohair/silk blend to make a simple waist-shaped cardigan into something really special with three applications of romantic Sawtooth lace - two densities of ruffle in the peplum and flat edging on the sleeve.
Knitting: Cardigan
This sweater is designed to the specifications of my dear stepdaughter Jessica, who asked for a “boyfriend sweater.” I took that to mean something easy and comfortable and that would go with everything, just like a good boyfriend. Worked from the bottom up in pieces, the design features an easy A-line fit, extra-long raglan sleeves, and very ha...
