Knitting: Balaclava
Applied Shetland Lace. I love placing Shetland Lace motifs in unusual places. The Blyde Balaclava is an ideal shape to show off your Shetland Lace New Shell Knitting. Its very warm and knits up quickly. It is designed to use 3 x 25g balls of Jamieson’s of Shetland DK yarn.
Knitting: Drawstring Bag
This is a reconstruction of a 17th Century purse found by my Grandfather in law in Shetland in 1952. The pattern gives two versions - 1 with the original gauge and one with an easier gauge to achieve. The finished purse measures 13cm/5.25” by 9.5cm/3.75”.

This clever Shetland Sheep pattern is knit flat but has very little sewing up required. The legs are knit in icord and threaded through the body. The ears are knit as you knit the head. It can be knit in any yarn with matching needles but I think its best in Shetland yarn for authenticity! It makes a great brooch, toy or decoration.

This is a collection of three designs for knitted bangles. They are great for using up your stash. The cover is knit flat and then grafted. It is then sewn together and machine washed to felt it.
Knitting: Lampshade
This is a collection of 5 different Designs. 1 uses plain garter stitch while the other 4 incorporate Shetland Lace. The shades will fit around Lampshade measuring 45cm (18”) in circumference and 15cm (6”) in height.

This is the very first pattern using an exciting new technique that I have developed. Knitting with only 1 or 2 yarns at a time, this technique works like magic to give the appearance of 3 colours in each row. FISS stands for Fair Isle Slip Stitch.
