Knitting: Scarf
Brioche is probably my favorite stitch. The central pattern in this scarf is reminiscent of a smiling fox, and the side panels are the leaves he is hiding behind. A fun thought to keep you smiling throughout this project.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
How much texture can you get into one blanket? The Blanket is worked with stripes of nupps, enclosed in cables, laying on a bed of seed stitch. It is perfect for those little fingers that love to touch.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The ‘Swan Wings“ lace pattern makes a perfect lace edging for this asymmetrical wrap. The Fiber Seed Sock yarn drapes just enough for an elegant look, but a cozy feel. Just enough for a cool evening out and about.
Knitting: Scarf
I just love the brioche stitch. For me there is a rhythm to it that is soothing and exciting at the same time. This pattern has a rather large center motif of framed leaves, with a small edge vine motif. But despite the number of rows in the pattern, the stitches are few and familiar to anyone who has done brioche before. The colors I chose for...
Knitting: Poncho
Fall is coming and what better way to prepare than to wrap yourself in a cozy brioche wrap. This asymmetrical wrap or poncho is knitted using the brioche technique. The wrap is worked in one large rectangle, folded in half lengthwise, then seamed part way along the side. The pattern along the top of the wrap is half of the pattern along the bot...
Knitting: Baby Blanket
What baby does not want to sleep with animals? Here Cat, Sheep and Bear lay down to sleep covered in a warm and cabled blanket. The edges are worked along with the blanket so there is no seaming of the blanket itself. The cables are nestled on a background of seed stitch to provide texture and interest. The animal heads are worked in seed stitc...
Knitting: Cowl
The curving lines on these brioche stitches remind me of trees budding in the spring time - a lovely image to go with this stunning cowl. The size of the cowl allows you to double it around to warm the neck, or pull up as a snood. As the cowl is constructed by working flat and seaming the ends, it can easily be converted to a scarf. Given the y...
Knitting: Scarf
Can you tell I just love brioche? This brioche pattern reminds me of budding leaves - a wonderful spring image. The brioche stitch makes it soft, yet so very warm - like spring. The fact that brioche results in a different pattern on the reverse side is an added bonus.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The hat is worked in the round, from the ribbing to the crown. The ribbing, worked in a smaller needle, flows into the cable pattern.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I just love brioche! The feel of it, the look of it, working it - just everything about it.
Knitting: Cowl
Who said cowls had to only be worn by women. This one would make any man happy. Crosses of brioche ribs keep the neck nice and cozy while adding appeal to any outfit.
Knitting: Scarf
If you ever knit a project and ended up liking the “wrong side” more than the “right side”, you will understand how I feel about how the Fiber Seed’s Sprout Sock worked up in this design. The half speckled dye method of the “It’s My Party” created waves on the “wrong side” that is spectacular.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The short rows on this hat make it a fun knit as well giving it a 3-D texture - just like I envision a Dragon’s Skin to be. The hat is worked in the round, however on round 6 of the pattern you will need to join the short rows in a unique way, but the pattern has full directions.
Knitting: Cardigan
With elements of a traditional gansey, this sweater has been updated to include a zippered front. Of course, button bands can be substituted without losing the classic look. The high collar and long length will keep him warm in the upcoming cooler months.
Knitting: Scarf
Smaller panels edge the central twists of this flowing brioche pattern. The result is a delightfully light weight, warm, reversible fabric that will make you want to shout with joy when wearing it. The gauge is not critical for the project, so just make sure the needle gives you a fabric you love. You will need a skein each of two colors - a hi...
Knitting: Pullover
Loved Reece’s Cables but thought it was too much intarsia, but loved the Celtic Cables and color work? Well this is a version that will make you and your young one smile. The Celtic cable in the center front is a simpler take on the original, but still provides you with the fun of the technique and the color work. Change the colors and your fav...
Knitting: Scarf
This beautiful design is reminiscent of lines of ribs lying on a bed of seed stitch. Wonderfully textural and perfect for these yarns that show off texture. The pattern is written in one size but with directions for making the scarf wider if desired. Of course, that would require more yarn.
Knitting: Pullover
A classic child’s Henley, but with a dramatic central celtic cable on the front, and cables going up the raglan sleeves. Intarsia technique is used for the color work on the stockinette background. Instructions are in writing and charted, but the central cable motif is only charted.
Knitting: Scarf
This stunning scarf sends waves of pleasure around your neck. Using the brioche stitch, ribs flow side to side to show off what can be done with this wonderful technique. The fabric’s squishiness brings a soft and insulating feature to the scarf. The yarn used also adds to the allure in a rich silky feel. Knit in The Fiber Seed’s Sprout DK brin...
Knitting: Cowl
This beautiful cowl pattern uses the fabulous brioche stitch technique, resulting in a “squishy” cowl that is warm as well as elegant. It is a wonderful beginning to this technique. There are 2 sizes to choose from. You will want to select 2 colors with substantial contrast to really show off the pattern. The Fiber Seed’s new DK is a great choi...
Knitting: Earflap Hat
This hat will charm your favorite little one. The pattern is written for the Magic Loop method. The pattern starts with the fingers, made up of I-cords, then works the arms, then up into the hat body. Additional materials include a 1 5/8” button for the eye. It is available in Child size only. The pattern calls for 5 colors, but the black, gray...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This beautiful set of mitts is adorned with 80 size 6/0 beads. The beads are placed as you knit, so you’ll need a small steel crochet hook which will fit through the bead.
