Sólas is Scottish Gaelic for light - the design of this colour work reminded of of twinkle lights hanging from the eaves on chilly winter nights. A farmer’s rib begins with the same colour used on the central motif to add contrast to the more delicate colour work.

Ohio Star was inspired by the traditional quilt block of the same name. Meant to be the coziest of toques, the big fisherman’s rib brim is knit to be extra long for folding up to keep ears warm during the chilliest of winter days.

Ninepatch is inspired by a traditional nine patch quilt block pattern. Incredibly simple, but offering strong visual appeal, I knew I wanted to create a toque based on this simple but highly adaptable pattern.

If you’re anything like me you may have a tendency to over-acquire sock yarn, which invariably leads to full or mostly-full of one-off skeins of different colours. With not enough to make a matching pair, I decided to use two different skeins and make opposite socks - and The Opposocks were born!
Knitting: Hanging Ornament

Brazeau is a pair of fingerless hand warmers featuring a meandering cable, and just a touch of lace. They were named after the Brazeau River in Alberta, a major tributary of the North Saskatchewan. The Brazeau River is the boundary for Clearwater County, which is home to a flock of North Country Cheviot sheep – the source wool for this pattern.

These socks are my secret little love letter to Sherlock Holmes - and I am a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. I’ve read every story and every book (just maybe, more than once), and I wanted to create a fun unisex sock that would allow other Holmes fans to let their fan flag fly.

A cèilidh in Scotland and Ireland is social gathering - often where stories are told, food is eaten, and dances are held. This knit was inspired by those dances, with intertwining cables, and gentle twists and turns, mimicking the dancers on the floor as they twirl about.

I love the way the sunlight falls through the leaves in my garden - making patterns out of the sunlight. With each twist of breeze or bee flying from flower to flower, the patterns and shapes are constantly changing.
