Knitting: Cowl
The Willowherb cowl is another iteration of my Willowherb Shawl pattern, but a much quicker (and simpler) knit! The subtle floral motifs look beautiful peeking out from under your winter coat, and can bring a little cheer to the colder, rainy seasons.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Inspired by the hardy, evergreen leaves present in the forests of the Pacific Northwest year-round, the Vaccinium Mitts use a combination of cables and rapid increases to create a texturally pleasing leaf motif surrounded by snug ribbed fabric for a comfortable fit.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Named for the spikes found on black hawthorn trees, this hat features an interesting combination of standard stranded colorwork and colorwork dip stitches, creating subtly textured columns. Once mastered, this stitch pattern is addictive to knit and goes by quite quickly!

Racemes are a form of inflorescence, the botanical term for the arrangement of flowers on a plant. This pattern was in part inspired by many plants with raceme inflorescences, such as lupine, lily of the valley, and camas, and equally inspired by a simple desire for thick, cozy mittens.
