This sweater fits the smaller WellieWishers American Girl doll and others of the same size. It is a cardigan so it easy to put on the doll. The design will look great in any color and texture comes from basic knit and purl stitches. A bit of contrasting color can be added with the buttons. The model is Willa.

This pattern works best if yarn is one color or has very subtle color variations (vs most hand dyed yarns). There is a nice variety of texture within a few easy and interesting knitting techniques. A double thick ribbing provides extra warmth. It is knit in fingering weight yarn for those who like to knit with smaller needles.

Charts are included in color and directions for creating the detail at the top of the ribbing. Other materials include five 1/2” buttons for the sweater and four for the skirt. Skirts are seamless and each needs 12” of 1/2” non-roll elastic for waistband.

Three or four toggle style buttons are needed. The yarn for the button and buttonhole loops is cast on and then the next row is simply bound off. Then loops are then attached to the coat.

The Argyle pattern has been popular on and off over the years and is a classic pattern. Working with three colors can be a bit difficult but the results are worth it and the piece is small. The back can be in the pattern or plain. A photo in color is included in the pattern.

Balloons are usually used for celebrations or just for fun. Use the photograph on the pattern for a guide to add balloon strings which are pieces of yarn tacked down.

This is one of my most popular patterns. The pattern includes the shrug with one 5/8” button and the beret. The beret is knit in the round on double point needles. A short I-cord finishes the top of the beret.

This sweater is shown with the front and back in two styles, either as a “plaid” or stripe with self striping yarn. It is much easier and faster to make than making a stripe or plaid in Fair Isle.

This cardigan includes six 3/8” or 1/2” buttons. The design is a basket weave in knit and purl stitches. The ribbing is Garter Stitch.

This is a very popular pattern and has minimal seaming because it is knit in one piece up to the armhole openings. The collar is done in garter stitch and includes the directions for short rows.

This poncho and skirt has been popular and fun. The skirt is knit in the round and is seamless. A 12” piece of non-roll elastic is used to make the waist fit.

This hat is extremely warm and comfortable because the ribbing is doubled. There are directions for optional ways to attach the ribbing so it stays neatly in place. This dress can be knit in one color or, as shown, in two colors in the Fair Isle technique. Five 1/2” buttons are needed to complete this dress.

Pattern shows a Christmas scene we are all familiar with and includes the chart to make it. Snowflakes are simple double knots.

Lights and decorations on the wreath are simple double knots. Decorative trim uses basic purl stitches and instructions are included.

All girls love cupcakes and especially ones with sprinkles on top of the frosting. Charts are included and directions on how to knit the cupcake base texture. The sprinkles are simple square knots.

The bugs are Lady Bug buttons and there are five 1/2” buttons. Leaf border instructions are given per row. Flowers are formed by knitting 2 stitches together and adding a yarn over.

This fun hat, knit on straight needles and seamed, leave tails every other row that are braided at the end. It can be knit in one color or stripes which could be from your stash. The pattern includes a suggested stripe sequence. It is very easy to knit and the seed stitch ribbing is knit in each row.

These hats are knit sideways in either one color or as many as you would like. The tails are made at one end of each row and after seam is complete, the tails are braided using 9 strands per braid.

The gauge is 5 1/2 stitches per inch. Fun in any color.

The double mittens begin with Judy’s Magic Cast On and the inside mitten. They are incredibly warm and can be very soft depending on your choice of yarn. They are best in contrasting colors but could be in any color combination. The amount of yarn is equal for the inside and outside mitten.

The sample was knit with eight different colors but any number of colors from two to eight will work. A photo in color is included on the pattern.

This pattern was inspired by a sweater Abigail Breslin wore at the end of a movie about the American Girl, her family, and friends. She was dressed up for Thanksgiving dinner in the movie but this sweater could be worn any time.

The body of this dress is knit in US 5 sixteen-inch circular needles with US 3 needles for the collar and US 2 needles for the flower, leaf, and stem. The back has four 1/2” buttons.

Girls often like options for color so the sample was knit with front and back in different colors, and the sleeves in a third. It could be knit in one color. Other materials include five 1/2” buttons. Pattern includes a photo in color.

Thia dress was sketched by an eight year old girl. The yardage is approximately 109 yards per color and there are 4 1/2” buttons. The belt is an I cord which is optional but must be knit on double point needles. Directions for the scallop border are included.

Additional Materials: one 1/2” button. The photos and pattern include both the shell and cardigan - the shell is shown in 2 different colors - one for the front and one for the back, so there is a choice on how to wear it. The “flowers” are French Knots. The Broken Rib pattern on the cardigan is repeated vertically for the shell.

The sun cheers everyone up so this sample, knit in the color of a Colorado blue sky, has a bright yellow sun peaking around the puffy white clouds. Charts and a photo in color included in pattern.

This hat and scarf will keep any kid warm and is cute in a single color, yarn with confetti, or self striping yarn. It will fit an adult for a tight fit.

This pattern includes a size to fit the 18”, American Girl, or Natterer Doll (top photo) and another size that fits kids and adults (bottom photo). Holes are made by binding off 2 stitches periodically and adding them back on in the next row. Then the I-cord is woven through them and tied.

Yarn used in sample is self striping. Additional material includes one 1/2” button. A photo in color is included in the pattern.

Dress requires six 1/2” buttons. Optional I cord belt is knit with double point needles. Belt could be a ribbon instead.

A great sweater for the active girl!

Textured patterns are beautiful in ways they work the color of the yarn and the light that reflects off it. This pattern is enhanced by the occasional twisted stitch played against the regular stitch.

It is a cheerful sweater that is reminiscent of warm climates. It was designed for those who want more than a plain sweater but do not want to knit in Fair Isle or Intarsia, and/or are looking for a quick way to add design.
