Fuzzy Memories is designed to use one precious skein of souvenir laceweight yarn. My souvenir yarn was a one ounce skein of Qiviut (muskox yarn) purchased on the Vogue Knitting Alaska Cruise in 2023. This fuzzy yarn needs an unfussy stitch pattern to complement the dreamy fluffiness, so I chose a stockinette variation of Old Shale Lace.

Zen Rain is a wide, shallow, ruffled scarf/shawlette. I daydreamed this shawl while watching rain run down a window. Lorajean Kelley of Knitted Wit dyed a beautiful, cloudy sky gray with her Bling fingering weight yarn base for me. The pattern is very rhythmic to knit, and oh, so zen.

I was inspired to design this cowl and cuffs set by the beautiful Sakura yarn that Knitted Wit dyed as a fundraiser for Japan disaster relief. Sakura is Japanese for cherry blossom, and Hanami is the name for the spring cherry blossom viewing parties.

This shawl was inspired by the rolling waves of the Pacific Ocean. The optional (but highly recommended) beads capture the sparkle of sunlight on the waves.

This pattern was designed for the June 2010 installment of Twisted’s Single Skein Club. It is now available to the general public as of September 1, 2010.

This pattern uses two 50 gm/128 yard skeins of DK weight yarn. I used Mirasol Tupa, a 50/50 Merino Wool/Silk blend. You may be able to make these with 50 gms of yarn, but all of my mitts weighed 26 gms each. So close! Buy two skeins, just in case. Gauge is 12 stitches per 2 inches in stockinette stitch; I used a US size 3 needle.

Two cowls, worn three ways. It’s your choice! Knit in the round with Malabrigo Chunky or other bulky yarn, it’s a quick and satisfying knit.

Elsa is a baby hat, knit in the round, sized to fit 6 mos or so.

This stocking is knit in the round from the cuff down in heavy worsted or Aran weight wool, 75 grams of a main color and 25 grams of each of two contrast colors.

This pattern is knit from the cuff down on 5 dpns. You can easily switch to two circulars. Design is shown in chart and written out.

Pippi is an earflap hat pattern worked in the round. You’ll need four colors of worsted weight yarn, 50 gms/110 yards each. Only two colors are used per round. Simple charts for color patterns are included. Edges are crocheted.

Athena is an entrelac cowl, knit in the round. Why Athena? Because after going to sleep trying to think of what to make a friend for Christmas, the idea popped out of my head the next morning, like Athena from the head of Zeus!

This pattern was written to be easy enough for beginners who know how to knit and purl, but have enough visual/textural interest for more advanced knitters, too. It takes less than one 100 gm skein of worsted weight yarn.

This is a close-fitting cap, knit from the bottom up. The picture looks like it has a flared bottom, but it’s really more of a beanie.

This is a top down entrelac leg sock knit in sport/dk weight yarn. Foot size is adjustable.

This pattern uses one 100 gram hank of sport weight yarn, and is knit from the top down. I used Yarntini Variegated Sport (100 g/270 yards).

This blanket makes a great group project! It is knit with worsted weight yarn.

This tote begins at the bottom, knit flat. Stitches are picked up around the bottom, and the rest of the bag is knit in the round. Handles are made with gigantic i-cord! A very fun project to felt. Choose a non-superwash wool!

Yarn is held doubled throughout.
