I am updating all my patterns and am making them free to download from Ravelry. However, I am happy to encourage donations (maybe just a $ or $2?) for a charity close to my heart - the Macmillan Cancer Support, so please feel free to donate.

In my never ending quest of researching old stitch patterns and incorporating them in my favorite medium … . . socks :o) I came across a lovely design that integrates cables and a diamond texture. It is from an old Inverness Fisherman’s jersey and is one of those patterns where the whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts.

I have adapted the pattern and added three bands of ribbing that continue down the side of the leg, with one band going along to the toes. The cable/diamond pattern runs down the front and the back of the sock. The heel is a honeycomb flap design bordered by garter stitch to complement the ribbed bands.

The pattern has been written top down for 64sts.
Oh, and the name of the socks, 3rd Dog, is my husbands’ nom de plume … … a long story best saved for another time! Honey – these are for you xx
