Arpeggio
This pattern is available with a 25% launch discount for a few days
Like an instrumental “arpeggio”, where the notes are played in a steady and even manner, creating a smooth and flowing sound, in this shawl floral motifs and abstract geometries interlace with harmony, resulting in a unique accessory.
The intricate motifs are created using twist stitch technique. The care and precision required to execute this technique make the shawl a genuine piece of art.
Wearing it evokes a sense of warmth and pride in carrying such a fine and meticulous work, telling a story of creativity and artisanal mastery.
Worked from the bottom up, the shawl can be customized in size just adding more repeat to the knitwork.
Measures: 140 cm / 55” wingspan x 68 cm / 26.75” depth. You can easily modify the size by working more repeat of Chart 2 (needed yardage will change consequently, and also consider that the shawl will grow in depth as well, not only in width).
Gauge: one repeat (see Chart 2) = 19 cm / 7.5” x 20.5 cm / 8” after blocking.
Gauge is not critical; different gauge will only affect finished size and yardage.
Yarn: Sport or Fingering weight yarn, approx. 640-800 meters / 700-875 yds
Yarns used for the sample:
Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy 100% organic Merino extra fine; 320 meters (350 yds) / 100 grams: Color: Caramel
Needles: 3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle, 80 cm / 32” length or longer, OR straight needles same size. Use the needle size that allows you to get the gauge.
Notions: stitch markers (optional), tapestry needle, blocking board and pins.
