This stole was inspired by my sister Aruna Carmina and the sketch pattern was hatched at her kitchen table in Sweden. The colours represent the rich woodland outside her window where delicate wildflowers, shed pine needles and wild blueberries make a soft carpet throughout the forest. The pattern is knitted horizontally and can be shortened or extended to any desired length. If shortened/lengthened it can also be used as a table runner.

Yarn
The stole is knitted in JW (jumperweight) yarn.
A: 100g Tormentil Meal
B: 75g Moss Meal
C: 75g Aess
D: 75g Speedwell Heath
Notice that you will need to add more yarn if you want to extend the length of your piece.

Needle size
4mm.

Tension
16 sts x 32 rows over lace pattern (after blocking) = 10 cm. The width will depend on how strongly you tease the piece when blocking. It is always wise to do a swatch to establish your tension; adjust your needle size accordingly.

Size
Width: ca 40 cm / 15.8 in
Length: ca 197 cm / 77.5 in (or any chosen length).
You can extend the length by making more pattern repeats. Size can also be adjusted by using larger or smaller needles.

Techniques
Knitting in the flat, decreasing, yarn over, chart reading, fringe tying.
